Pine Cone

November 12, 2010
On Tuesday, I shared a picture of my brown teddy bear for Shutter Love Tuesday. As it turns out, this week’s Live Every Moment theme is also brown. I told Tara that I would try to find another brown photo for Friday (and in my mind, I was thinking it needs to be a macro). Well, as luck would have it, I found what I believe is the perfect brown macro…a pine cone. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner!Sigma 105 mm Macro Lens and Speedlight , ISO 100,  f/4, 1/50 sec.I’m also adding this image to “show {off} your shot” over at and then, she...
Caption This!

Tara, over at Live Every Moment, is starting her very own photo challenge. This week, the theme is “in disguise.” I immediately thought of the photo below. I could tell you a story, but I think it’d be a lot more fun for you to caption it for me.  I’ve actually been  thinking about doing a “caption this” challenge…I just don’t have enough silly photos to provide such a challenge consistently each week. I shared these with my husband and his response was, “but they’re blurry.” Ah yes…the beauty of a lensbaby.      Hope you have a great day and weekend! For more beautiful skies, go
Anniversary Cake!

October 22, 2010
I love love loved our wedding cake. When we were planning our wedding, I went to a bridal show for “inspiration.” To be completely honest, I thought the whole thing was a waste of time with the exception of CAKE TASTINGS! I hadn’t quite figured out what type of cake we’d have at our wedding…I just knew that we’d probably use a local baker – one who typically baked pound cakes and decorated with fondant. That would have been all fine and good until I had a taste of a sweet potato cake. I remember leaving the show with my mom talking about how much I...
