The weekend before last (I’m slightly behind), I met up with Amelia for her 3 year old portrait session at Pullen Park.
Amelia wasn’t completely interested in having her photo taken, but with the promise of playtime at the park, she allowed me to shoot while she tried her best to avoid the camera.
It used to make me nervous when kids did this to me…the fear of not capturing the beautiful smiling shots that all parents want. Over time, I’ve learned to just roll with the punches.

On Friday, the 13th, Felicity and I met up with Michelle and Madeline…and Anna and Liam to go to Pullen Park’s annual Holiday Express.
I also decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to throw Felicity’s hair into pigtails. Isn’t she adorable?!
In an effort to avoid long lines, we arrived at the bus pick up spot early…and had our arm bands ready to go. If you’re one of those people who finds this post via Google, I fully recommend to pick up your armbands early if you can…and to attend on Friday (versus Saturday or Sunday)....

Yesterday, Liam turned ONE!
Unfortunately, I was not able to spend his birthday with him…but I was able to spend the afternoon at Pullen Park with him and his family on Sunday.
When I first arrived, Liam was sound asleep. I’ve been around Liam quite a bit over the past few months, so I wasn’t too concerned – they tend to last about 15-20 minutes. This time, his father wasn’t so sure…apparently Liam was in the midst of a growth spurt.

I met up with Zan and his mother last Monday afternoon at Pullen Park, in Raleigh.
I’ve been shooting Zan since he was just a few days old. The last time I saw him, he was 12 months old. He’s grown up quite a bit over the past nine months. He’s also a lot faster.
