This Friday’s fix-it challenge is brought to us by Frogmum. She wrote, “My daughter is standing in our front garden – I was laying down. It was a beautiful day, but her face was in full shade & looks a bit blurry. She looks too dull against the blue sky. I’d like to be able to pull the whole thing up and make her pop out without losing the beauty of that blue sky.”
I also love this photograph and wanted to respect the owner’s wishes to not lose the beauty of that blue sky. Here’s the original:
And here’s my edit:
Although I appreciated her original perspective, I decided to rotate and crop the image. This also meant I had to add some background (it’s not perfect as you can tell in the lower right corner), but I think I like this angle better. I adjusted the curve and levels a little, enhanced the blue of the sky, and cleaned up her face and elbows. I then ran Coffeeshop’s sun-kissed action to give it a neat effect – it almost looks like she’s floating in the clouds now. To top it off, I sharpened for the web.
Hope you enjoy my edit. Until next time,
