I’m always disappointed when I Heart Faces takes a week off from their usual photo challenges and Fix-it Fridays. However, I still had a couple of photos that I put into my folder for such an occasion, so I pulled one out today. This is Moses.
I knew that I wasn’t going to make this a crystal-clear sharp photo, so I went the other direction. First, I cleaned up his face a little (but I didn’t use Powder Room) – I just used the eye dropper to select an area of his face and then painted over his skin to create an even skin tone. Next, I used Coffeeshop’s Orton. I’ve created this effect before without using an action: create two duplicate layers, use a gaussian blur filter on one and set it to soft light, set the other one to overlay (I think), and then adjust the layers for the desired effect. If you want me to go through more detail, just let me know.
On another note, I gave my blog header and signature a face lift. What do you think?
