Blending Modes
A couple of weeks ago, I was asked to elaborate on the use of blending modes within an edit. Blending modes allow you to adjust how one layer or color mixes with the colors in the layers below. I often use blending modes along with texture layers to take a photograph to the next level…and I’m not sure there is a specific formula for getting it right. Therefore, I encourage you to experiment with textures, overlays, blending modes, etc.

I WAS going to write a tutorial on how to effectively apply blending modes, but then I ran across another tutorial that I feel explains the process pretty well. Because I like to share…and you shouldn’t have to hunt all over the internet for answers…CLICK HERE! Then, if you still have questions, leave me a comment or send me a message.

And with that (and because no good blog message is complete without a picture), I leave you with a picture of my friend Caroline. I had the pleasure of photographing her and her fiancee at Peace College on Sunday. We had a great time dodging the rental guys (since they were cleaning up from an event on Saturday), racing the thunder storms and taking pictures. I’d love to share more, but you’ll have to beg Caroline for the goods.
