SOOC Saturday: On the Road Again…
My husband and I are about to leave for a little road trip…we think to wine country. Before we leave, I wanted to share a piece of me…SOOC (on watermarked and resized). I took these shots on Wednesday with my new Macro lens (yeah, I realize random self-portrait shots in my side view mirrors is not the purpose of the lens…but I just had to use it).

Speaking of self-portraits, Jess at The Old Nichols Farm is starting a weekly self-portrait adventure. The rules are simple, you must be in the shot and you must have taken the shot (and of course add her button which she’s currently making). I’ve been interested in doing more self-portraits, so I think this will give me the opportunity to explore yet another creative outlet. Perhaps you’ll join me and Jess. I hadn’t really planned for these to be my first entries, but they seemed appropriate (I promise I’ll get more creative in the future).

On an unrelated note, Lindsay at A Little Kloep and LisaRenee at 1 Wasabi Mommy gave me the Versatile Blogger Award. There were two different buttons, but since it’s the same award, I’m going to use this one.
I am supposed to tell you seven things about me and then nominate 15 (according to Lindsay) or five (according to LisaRenee) other blogs, but I told you yesterday that I really suck at the rules. Okay, fine…I’ll tell you seven things about me.
  1. I went to a Women’s College and loved it!
  2. I can’t sleep without wearing my ear plugs (subtle sounds like the ticking of a clock keep me up all night). I made the mistake of forgetting my ear plugs the night before my wedding. I also made the mistake of sleeping next to my mother. She snores.
  3. I’ll steal LisaRenee’s #7 – I also love the Twilight series…but I love all things that scream Teenage Vampire love story. I’m currently reading Marked.
  4. I’ve been interested in photography since high school. I borrowed my parents old Minolta camera and took a photography class to learn the basics…I even learned how to process film in a dark room (ya know, like in the dark ages). Since that time, I’ve kept a Point & Shoot on me at all times.
  5. I bought my DSLR in November after I realized that a credit card I was about to cancel had over 50,000 points on it which I could cash in. Now that I know I can earn cash back, I’ve kept the card and use it to build up my play money account.
  6. I clearly love my cat, Kitty Paw, but I’ve always dreamed of having a English Springer Spaniel. Growing up, we had this type of dog – her name was Lady Bug. She died when I was in middle school or Junior High. Greatest dog ever. I think it’s cruel to keep such a dog in the city with .25 acres, so I won’t even suggest it until we have more property. Furthermore, my husband is an outdoor dog guy only and I like my pets to really live with me.
  7. My favorite book series growing up was the Ramona collection by Beverly Cleary. I’ve considered naming my future daughter Ramona.
Now, I should be nominating other blogs, but for now I just want to thank Lindsay and LisaRenne for this award! I hope everyone has a great weekend.
