Two days ago, we went to the aquarium (it was raining most of the day, so we took it easy – I haven’t even opened those photos yet so I’ll have to share those later). We were responsible for cooking dinner…and when I say we, I really mean my husband (he likes being in the kitchen ALONE). It was pretty great. Shortly after dinner, my mother-in-law decided she was going to make homemade ice cream.
When I walked out on the back porch, my niece was standing there – I couldn’t tell if she was tired or starting to think about vacation being over. She looked so sweet, but sad. I had to perk this girl up. We threw a ball for a while and then decided to take a walk on the beach.
My husband came along.
While we were out there, we made it our mission to find BIG seashells. Here, Alyssa is showing me her latest find.
Paw Paw (my father-in-law) also joined us. I love how they’re walking in sync.
When we first decided that we were going to walk on the beach, we told Alyssa that she didn’t need to put on her swimsuit because she would only get her feet wet. We were wrong. I would have known this if I was a parent. None the less, I’m starting to see the makings of a young lady as she walks down the beach.
Then she gives me this face…almost to say, enough Ashley! Actually, I think I told her to give me a happy face. I guess if left up to interpretation, this could be happy?

I found this shell and decided that for Macro Friday, I HAD to have a seashell shot. It may not be the prettiest seashell, but I think it looks cool.

Finally, as we were about to walk back in, we ran into Uncle John…so we stopped to watch him fish for a little while.
