Scavenger Hunt Sunday
I can’t believe it’s already October…this year is really flying by…but Fall is my favorite season, so I’m glad that it’s finally here. This weekend (unlike previous weekends) has been rather lazy, although this afternoon I will be meeting up with a couple of our friends for an Engagement Session (wish me luck). With all that said, I’m really excited to see everyone’s interpretations of the scavenger hunt items this week and I’m hoping we pick up a few new bloggers along the way.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge.
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Have fun!
Before we get started, I wanted to let everyone know (if you didn’t know already) that the October Photo Hunt list has been posted. Because I know how time consuming the Photo Hunt can be, I will select at least two items from the list each week as part of our Scavenger Hunt Sunday. So…if you’re interested, click on the link below to sign up.
Now for my interpretation of the items this week:

1. Golden
Golden RS
This is actually a photo from last year’s archives – one of the first photos I took with my DSLR. I pass these old farm houses/storage sheds every day on my way home from work. There is something romantic about them that I love…especially when the sun hits them just right. I decided to re-edit them with a golden glow.

2. Smell
Smell RS
I think I’ve mentioned before that I have no idea what I’m going to shoot when I assign the scavenger hunt items this week…so “smell” could have been quite difficult for you (I know it was for me). There were so many times that I wanted to photograph Kitty Paw tilting up her head to get a wiff of whatever we were having for dinner, but there is no way I would have ever been able to get my camera fast enough. So, I thought I’d photograph one of my bottles of perfume. Each year for Christmas, my husband buys me a new bottle of perfume – this was last year’s gift and I love it!

3. Fruit
Bananas RS
I grew up on Banana with mayonnaise sandwiches (and of course, a glass of milk). I’ve recently learned that everyone else thinks this combination is disgusting. Nonetheless, the label says “Brain Fuel,” so it must be good for you.

4. Simple
Simple Spoon RS
I realized after I took this shot that I could go ahead and mark one of the October 2010 Photo Hunt items off the list – Something from the Kitchen. Actually, I just liked the simplicity of one of our spoons on a white background. If you look closely, you can also see me.

5. Sports
IMG_6868 RS
Just before my husband left for the football game, I had him walk outside to show off his shirt to represent “sports.” He said he felt like it was the first day of school all over again…and wanted me to “hurry up,” so no one would catch him looking like a goof. Unfortunately, the lighting was a little harsh and he was in a hurry, so this is the best I could get…and NC State lost.

What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures in your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post.  Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST).

Before I give you your items for next week, I should point out that I screwed up the POTW order (if you don’t know what this is…don’t worry about it) and gave you miniature ahead of golden. I just wanted to admit my faults and move on. Now that that’s off my chest…if you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items:

  1. Pink
  2. Books (October 2010 item)
  3. Fall Colors (October 2010 item)
  4. Leaf
  5. Orange
Have a great week and happy shooting!
