I Heart Faces: Scenic Black and White
This week’s I Heart Faces theme is: “scenic black and white.” I prefer a “fill the frame” approach to photography, so I often miss the bigger picture because I am so focused on a face or detail. My husband, on the other hand, loves a beautiful landscape shot. Last summer, we were scoping out photography spots for an upcoming portrait shoot when we found a hand full of photographers paired with families along the beach. Clearly, that particular time and location were ideal for portraits so we stopped and took a few shots of each other.

For some reason, when I saw the theme for this week, I was reminded of this particular shot of my husband. He (and the water) look so calm and peaceful. Considering how stressed my husband has been as of late, I look forward to the day where he can be this calm and peaceful again.

Added on 11/30/10: I’m also sharing this photo for this week’s Simplicity theme: Dreaming of Summer. I got my dates mixed up and thought this theme would be posted next week, but I originally titled the above photo “Dreaming of Summer,” so it seems appropriate.
