I hope everyone had a great week…it’s hard for me to believe that it’s already November. Christmas is just around the corner, and I have no idea what I’m going to get anyone. So, if you’re family…and you’re reading this…give a girl a hint! Anyways, it’s that time again…Scavenger Hunt Sunday. So, if you’ve been participating in the Scavenger Hunt each week, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME!
- Anyone can participate.
- You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge.
- If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
- Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
- Have fun!
Oh by the way, I’ll be celebrating a friend’s birthday most of the afternoon…so if I don’t stop by to visit this morning, I’ll be sure to visit this evening. Now, without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:
1. Boo!
When I boarded my plane on Thursday morning, it was still dark outside. I looked outside and I thought I might have just enough light from the gate to capture something (hey, I was bored so I was just screwing around with my camera before take off)…when I later looked at this photo, it appears that a small cloud…or GHOST is hovering over the plane. Do you see it? Boo!
2. Black
Katie Julius is starting a new photo challenge called Lens Art. I’m excited about any new photo challenge, but this one is kinda cool because it has everything to do with turning a photograph into art. This week’s theme is COLOR, so while I initially took this shot with “black” in mind (because it was taken at night and I really enhanced the darkness of the background), it better represents art through COLOR!
Ideally, I would have kept this shot pretty natural. However, the noise in this photo was (in my opinion) pretty bad, so I decided to get artistic and play with some of the painting tools to create an interesting effect. Like I said, not my typical style, but kind of fun. For more “Lens Art,” go to:

I am really enjoying flying for the sake of photography. Although I really hate those early morning flights, I was excited on Thursday to be up in the air at sunrise. Lately, I’ve even been carrying my DSLR (rather than my point and shoot…although there is nothing wrong with a point and shoot) to capture the moment. For this particular shot, I wanted to use texture (specifically several textures by Kim Klassen) to enhance an already beautiful image. I think this particular scripture really fits the photo. 4. Wet
I was glad that it rained this week – don’t you love when nature provides your scavenger hunt items? At some point, I’m going to try that trick Karli shared a few weeks ago…CLICK HERE. Maybe I’ll get my husband to help me.
5. Language
Speaking of my husband…this is the message he left for me this week. You can also see some of the quotes I’ve written in the lower right hand corner, another one he wrote in the upper right hand corner, and then some house notes in the upper left hand corner.
What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures in your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST).
