As I’m writing this post (early Saturday afternoon), I feel a bit sluggish. I probably should have hit the gym, but I don’t feel like it. We have an engagement party to host this evening and I want to be well rested. I also feel like it’s been a slow week…at least for me. Slow weeks make me tired. Of course, next week will be incredibly busy. I am traveling to Minnesota on Tuesday and have a full day of personality profile debriefing on Wednesday – goodness gracious, now I’m really tired.
But enough of my whining – don’t ya just hate a whiner? It’s Scavenger Hunt Sunday and I’m really excited to share my interpretations this week. If you’ve been participating in the Scavenger Hunt each week, I hope this week’s items inspired you too. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by The Paper Mama, the December 2010 Photo Hunt (see list above) and Phoenix Peacock.- Anyone can participate.
- You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge.
- If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
- Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
- Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:
1. In My Home
I took the plunge…I upgraded my camera body to the Canon 7D and it is IN MY HOME! I was trying to get a creative picture of it when Kitty Paw decided to check it out like she had a baby brother or sister. Granted, I haven’t been able to use my new camera…yet – I ordered a Compact Flash card that is taking the slowest possible route across the country, but I am reading my manual. If you own the 7D and have any words of wisdom…please share. Looks like I’ll be learning my camera again in 2011.
2. It’s beginning to look a lot like…
Friday I shared one of my mom’s Christmas ornaments. Today, I share one of her faux presents present decorations. While most of us know the real meaning of Christmas (the birth of Jesus Christ), I’d be lying if I told you that when I hear “It’s beginning to look a lot like…” that I didn’t first think of Santa, presents, etc. I’ve really got to finish editing the rest of her ornaments and the tree itself (maybe tomorrow) – they are too cute!
3. Sweet Treat
I think this one is pretty self-explanatory.
4. Time
One of my coworkers keeps two clocks on her wall – one for North Carolina time and one for Colorado time (we have an office in Denver too and she is regularly on the phone with the other person in her role). I think they look pretty cool, but of course I added some creative processing.
5. Everyday
I did not grow up eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch. However, about a year (maybe longer), I fell in love with CTC. I eat a bowl of CTC every morning and feel a little bit off if I start my day any different.
What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures in your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items:
- Holiday Colors (next week’s Paper Mama theme)
- Winter/Holiday Icon (December 2010 Photo Hunt Item)
- A Tree (December 2010 Photo Hunt Item)
- Quiet (Phoenix Peacock’s Suggestion)
- Your Favorite Color (Phoenix Peacock’s Suggestion)
Again, thank you Phoenix Peacock for so many great scavenger hunt items (she sent me a really long list to choose from). If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just leave me a comment or send me an email with your suggestions. Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap (I’m trying to link up with the Paper Mama and/or Paper Heart Camera, and the December Photo Hunt), and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.
Don’t forget to sign up for this year’s newest end-of-year link-up party: Memories, Dreams and Reflections! Click on the button below for more information. So, off you go…happy shooting!
