Scavenger Hunt Sunday
I am proud to announce that a total of 130 bloggers participated in the first annual Memories, Dreams and Reflections link up party. Thank you again to everyone that took the time to participate and link up. We’ve got some amazing photographers in our little community and I’m so fortunate to be a part of it. So, until next year…keep shooting!

With that said, you should be so proud of me. I have had this post ready since Tuesday (only making a few tweaks before final posting). Chelsey (The Paper Mama) has been bragging to me about far ahead she’s gotten with her posts, so I took it upon myself  to do the same (it really does make life much less stressful).  And, I really am excited about this week’s items. You’ll notice that many of my interpretations are a bit abstract – I love it!

One of the reasons it’s been so important for me to stay ahead of myself is that I’ve recently taken on a few new assignments/projects, and let’s be honest…time management is of the essence! In addition to Scavenger Hunt Sunday, you may know that I am one of the contributors at Paper Heart Camera (although I haven’t written a new tutorial lately…I promise, it’s coming). Many of you are also participating in a new photo challenge co-hosted by myself and Jill at Forever’n Ever’n Always Photography: Shoot and Edit (by the way – we are overwhelmed with joy at the response so far…so excited about this journey). In addition to the above (and all my commenting, photo challenges, etc.), Tammy Lee Bradley recently asked me to join THE MORTAL MUSES! Starting January 24th, I will be musing there every nine days. I’m really excited to join the group and I hope you’ll come visit me while I’m there.

Anyways, if you’ve been participating in the Scavenger Hunt each week, I hope this week’s items inspired you too. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Mortal Muses, Paper Heart Camera and Jules J. Gallery.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge.
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. A Different View
Paw Nose RS
For this particular prompt, I originally thought that I would get a shot of Kitty Paw’s butt. Then, on Tuesday when I was home because of the ice, I thought she looked so sweet laying on the couch that I pulled out my camera. I was inspired by Diva and Dreams post that offered a couple of funky photography tips…one of which was to crop off the head. I took that tip and cropped my photo in a bit closer to reveal something a little more interesting. Be sure to link up with The Paper Mama – I’m guest judging again this week!

2. Looking Up
IMG_1139 RS
Confession: I did not take this photo this week (I took it on December 30th). But, when I saw this item come up, I saved the shot to share this week. I think my husband made a comment to Alyssa (our niece) about how tall she was getting. She felt the need to stand beside him and look up to show him how much she’s grown.

3. Abstract
Abstract RS
This is another one of my water droplet shots taken the other day. I played with my color balance a bit to change the color from the original green. I am really loving the final result.

4. Hair
Hairbrush RS
Keeping with the abstract theme, I thought rather than photographing my hair or Kitty Paw’s hair that I would photograph my hairbrush. I’ve done this once before and you all were shocked at how clean my hairbrush was -a result of my husband’s cleaning antics. Today’s image is a lot more realistic.

5. Half
Half RS
Do you see the glass as half empty or half full?

What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures in your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post.  Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items:
  1. Memories
  2. Silhouette (current Mortal Muses’ prompt)
  3. Doorway(s) (next week’s Paper Heart Camera theme)
  4. Reflection (Jules’ Suggestion)
  5. Silver (Jules’ Suggestion)

Again, thank you to the Mortal Muses, Chelsey and Jules for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just leave me a comment or send me an email with your suggestions. Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap (I’m trying to link up with  the Paper Mama and/or Paper Heart Camera, and other photo challenges), and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Don’t forget to come back tomorrow for Shoot and Edit: Part 1, Week 2.  The prompt/theme is what says “good morning” to you?
Happy Shooting!
