I can hardly believe it’s March already…basketball, flowers, warmer weather…am I the only one who can’t believe how quickly this year is already flying by? Anyways, it’s been a good week (although I have very little to report), and today is Scavenger Hunt Sunday. If you’ve been participating in the Scavenger Hunt each week, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by The Moral Muses, Becky @ My Daily Journey, Ewa @ One Mom’s World Reflected in Photographs, and Jennifer @ The Fiddlehead Report.

- Anyone can participate.
- You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge.
- If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
- Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
- Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
- Have fun!
1. Vanishing Point
I don’t know the story behind this piano, but I should…it sits at our family cabin in the mountains (well my husband’s family’s cabin). Our family loves music and will often gather around to play instruments and sing…in fact, I’m starting to think that the kids will start a band since each of them is learning to play a different instrument. You’ll later see Carter pretending to play the piano – maybe it’ll be his instrument. I certainly wish I had paid better attention during my lessons as a child.
2. Square Crop
Earlier this week, we had beautiful weather…so, I went outside to look for shadows (if you haven’t already, check out my Mortal Muses‘ post). While I was wandering one of the trails by my office, I came upon this bridge. I went with a simple center-composed shot and then did a square crop in post-processing. Don’t forget to link up your square cropped photos with Kat:
3. Under

Who knew that Scavenger Hunt Sunday would take me to so many unusual places for a photo. A few weeks ago, I share a picture from my bathroom (click here if you missed it). This week, I was struggling with “under,” so I thought I’d capture my shoes UNDER the bathroom stalls. I originally planned on doing a self portrait of myself from that perspective (and granted, being without shoes in the bathroom is pretty gross), but I was a bit nervous of someone walking in and wondering what I was doing. On another note, do you like how I’m including at least one noisy photo each week? I should have an entire series called “embracing the noise…” – okay, maybe not.
4. “Welcome to the Jungle”

On Friday, I posted several shots of the kids playing with party blowouts. If you missed my post, click HERE. Yeah, you could say it was a jungle.
5. Calm

Our nephew, Carter, was such a sweet and quiet baby. Next month, he will turn 2 years old and I can’t say that he’s the sweet and quiet baby he once was. Last weekend, he wanted nothing to do with me and would say NO repeatedly to any request. However, there was a moment of calm when he sat at the piano.
What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures in your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week):

- Camera Phone (current Mortal Muses theme – you can either share a picture taken with your camera phone [not limited to iphones since I don’t own one] or get creative with the prompt)
- Camera (Becky‘s suggestion)
- Shoes (Becky‘s suggestion)
- Chair (Ewa’s suggestion)
- Imperfection (Jennifer‘s suggestion)
Again, thank you to the Mortal Muses, Becky, Ewa and Jennifer for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way…and we’ve got some great prompts coming up in future weeks). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.
Be sure to come back tomorrow for Shoot and Edit: Part 1, Week 10. The prompt/theme is “yellow.” Happy Shooting!
