Welcome to the 11th week of Shoot and Edit: Part 1. Click HERE for all the details and upcoming prompts/themes.
This week our theme or prompt is “FLOWERS” (this is just a suggestion, you can show us any SOOC shot). You have until Wednesday each week to link your SOOC shot up on Jill’s blog. On Thursday, you can link up your edits with ME after following some of my tips on how to edit your shots (or just post your edit on Thursday and you can pick up my tips for next week).
I actually took this shot last week before our beautiful Bradford tree blooms turned green. It just so happened that I’d just gotten my new 50mm f/1.4 lens, so I was anxious to give it a whirl. Here’s my SOOC:

In my opinion, I think this shot needs little more than my typical clean processing. So, I am in the process of working on a “Nice and Easy” action for you that will include nearly all of the clean processing steps we’ve discussed. The only thing it may not include is your curves layer since many previous versions of Photoshop Elements do not have a curves function built in. As if you couldn’t tell, I’m still working on it.
I’d also like to explore the artsy filters, so I brought a photo out of archives as an example. Here is my SOOC:

There are so many fun artsy filters that I hope you’ll enjoy a little experimenting this week (alright…so I tend to experiment every week, but now that SPRING has officially started, I’ve got a fresh wave of inspiration). Next week’s theme is “green,” and I plan to discuss the true color of grass. With that said, be sure to check out other “flower” SOOC shots at:
