Shoot and Edit: Week 9 – Spring SOOC
Welcome to the ninth week of Shoot and Edit: Part 1.

Click HERE for all the details and upcoming prompts/themes.

This week our theme or prompt is “SPRING” (this is just a suggestion, you can show us any SOOC shot) – how appropriate for today!  You have until Wednesday each week to link your SOOC shot up on Jill’s blog. On Thursday, you can link up your edits with ME after following some of my tips on how to edit your shots (or just post your edit on Thursday and you can pick up my tips for next week).

I wasn’t quite sure what to shoot for “spring.” Spring is just starting to bloom, but it rained all weekend. However, there’s one thing that consistently returns every Spring…my allergies. I mentioned it during my vlog last week, so I thought I’d shoot my allergy medicine. Here’s the SOOC shot:
Allergy SOOC-RS

Allergies EXIF

As you can tell by my EXIF data, this shot is a bit overexposed. Considering my white on white composition, overexposure was bound to happen (at least according to my EXIF data). I used my Sigma 105mm EX Macro lens and it has a tendency to read everything as underexposed. This is a perfect example of learning how to use your camera and your lenses…each one will be different and each one will have their sweet spot.

Anyways, this week’s edit is likely to be pretty simple but I’m thinking I’ll share a simple way to “stretch the canvas,” and also discuss resizing and sharpening for the web. If you have other ideas that may be more appropriate, let me know. Next week’s theme is “yellow.” With that said, be sure to check out other “SPRING” SOOC shots at:
Have a great Monday!

PS: I was out of town this past weekend (I don’t like to mention that until I’ve returned home – not trying to get robbed or anything)…so if for any reason I missed a weekend visit to your blog…my sincerest apologies.
