Scavenger Hunt Sunday
This week has been a total drag. Spring fooled us last week by bringing in 80 degree temperatures. This week, it’s been cold and rainy. It’s really affecting my creativity and I haven’t really picked up my camera since Monday evening – that’s right, all of these photos were taken either Sunday or Monday of this week. As I’m writing today’s post (it should come as no surprise to you that I write my posts well in advance of their scheduled time), I’m really hoping that Spring arrives soon. I’ll even take a little pollen as long as that means warmer temperatures. We all need it…right?

Either way, it’s Scavenger Hunt Sunday. If you’ve been participating in the Scavenger Hunt each week, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by The Kat Eye View of the World (Exploring with a Camera), Amy (April 2011 Photo Hunt), Danielle, Jessaca McKay, and Paper Heart Camera.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge.
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. High Key
High Key Sunglasses RS
On Friday, I shared one of the photos I took of myself while waiting for Sarah. This time I decided to go for a “high-key” edit. I love the reflection in my sunglasses…so much so that I’ll probably try more of these types of shots. I also decided to share this photo for Shutter Love Tuesday.

2. Bedroom
Falling RS
I’ve debated on whether or not I would actually share this picture, but it’s way too funny to keep to myself. On Sunday, I decided I wanted to practice levitation a little more…this time in the bedroom. I really struggled with focusing, focal range (I love the decor in this particular bedroom, but it was a little small – I could have used more room to back up), as well as keeping my small stool level on the bed. At this particular moment, the shutter was released at the time I was falling off the bed. Notice the look of terror and “surprise” on my face. I nearly broke my wrists to get this shot! And while it’s not in focus and looks completely wrong…I can’t imagine deleting it.

3. Something Tiny
Ducks RS
I’ll be the first to admit that this one is a stretch (and one that I’ll re-shoot if I can get my act together and fully participate in the April 2011 Photo Hunt). I keep going back to this farm near our house. I can usually find cows and horses. On this particular day, a flock of geese were hanging out. They looked rather “tiny” in comparison to the other animals. On the other hand, the cow poop in the foreground looks big and nasty!

4. Off in the Distance
Off in the Distance RS
I think this photo speaks for itself – can you tell I’m going through a vintage postcard processing stage?

5. Stripes
Stripes RS
On Monday night, I wore a striped shirt. I think this makes three “self-portraits” in one Scavenger Hunt.

What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures in your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post.  Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week):
  1. Motion
  2. “Waiting to Click”  (Exploring with a Camera prompt – this follows the idea that sometimes we have to wait for just the right moment to get a particular shot)
  3. In Fashion  (April 2011 Photo Hunt item and suggested by Danielle)
  4. Animal’s Perspective (Jessaca‘s suggestion)
  5. Many (next week’s Paper Heart Camera prompt)
Artistically Amy    Photography love...

Again, thank you to Kat (Exploring with a Camera), Amy (April 2011 Photo Hunt coordinator), Danielle (Paper Heart), Jessaca McKay, and Paper Heart Camera for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way…and we’ve got some great prompts coming up in future weeks). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for Shoot and Edit: Part 1, Week 13.  The prompt/theme is “up.” Happy Shooting!
