Scavenger Hunt Sunday
I hope you’re all having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend (or just weekend if you’re not in the states). It has been a busy week for me – so busy in fact that most days, I just wanted to come home and crash. Thank goodness for the weekend! Anyways, if you’ve been participating in the Scavenger Hunt each week, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Kat, the ACoLab (Anika), and Brooke .
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge.
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Classic Still Life
Love Plant RS
I think I have mentioned this particular plant at some point – I call this our “love plant.” Yes…I just referenced “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.” My husband decided probably 8-10 months ago that my fake plants just weren’t cutting it. I was concerned that my black thumb would kill any live plants in our home – I just don’t seem to take the same kinda care in plants as he does. A few weeks ago, we bought a few of those watering balls (glass globe like balls that self-water the plants). As a result, our love plant is so healthy and strong that we’ve had to move it to a larger container.

2. Self-Portrait
Mirror Mirror RS
Today I am musing over at Mortal Muses…the theme: SELF-PORTRAITS. Be sure to click over and visit me. Of course, since self-portrait was also a scavenger hunt prompt and this week’s Paper Heart Camera theme is self-portrait (number), I thought I’d do something a little different. This is me…in a mirror – yep, two of me. Quite honestly, I don’t think anyone needs more than one Ashley Sisk. However, if there were another one of me around, I could definitely get more done.

3. On the Floor
Ribbon on the Floor RS
Kitty Paw loves to play with ribbons and bows. We got this bow during Easter and it’s still on the floor. I can’t decide if she’s done playing with it or not, so for now, I guess this bow will stay on the floor.

4. Lines
Lines RS
The other night, I met up with several young alumnae from my Alma Mater, Peace College. As I was walking up to the front of campus, I stopped to photograph the cross walk. I see a lot of lines…and broken lines.

5. Fresh
The Spricket RS
The fountain in front of Main Building at Peace College is quite the landmark…although I’m not sure how “fresh” the water is. In fact, I think the Provost Newsletter is called “Around the Fountain.” I vividly remember walking around the fountain and tossing rose petals into the water at graduation seven years ago. What I don’t remember is the little spricket at the top of the water fountain that looks like a sprinkler head.

What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures in your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post.  Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week):
  1. HOT HOT HOT
  2. Finding Form (Exploring with a Camera theme – check out post here)
  3. Front Page of the News (upcoming ACoLab theme)
  4. Chore (Brooke’s suggestion
  5. Beads (Brooke’s suggestion)
Again, thank you to Kat, the ACoLab (Anika), and Brooke for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way…and we’ve got some great prompts coming up in future weeks). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Also, be sure to come back tomorrow for Shoot and Edit: Part 1, Week 21.  The prompt/theme is “Looking Up.” Happy Shooting! By the way, don’t forget about my Thank You Giveaway. It ends May 31st at midnight.
