Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Hey everyone – it’s MAY! Time really flies when you’re having fun, right? And this week I did have fun – hanging out with friends is always a blast (I actually hung out with a few different friends on Wednesday evening but I put my camera away). Unfortunately, we’ve had really yucky weather all week and I hear that tornadoes continue to run rampant. It’s craziness! Anyways, if you’ve been participating in the Scavenger Hunt each week, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Cindy and Abby.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge.
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Architecture
Downtown Architecture RS
During my photography “play date” with Casey the other day, we came across this wonderful building – we were especially intrigued by the stair well. So, after watching a guy leave the building, we quickly ran up the stairs. If it hadn’t been so hot and humid, we might have spent a little more time with it but we were anxious to do a little shooting on the train tracks before our stomachs started yelling at us to eat.

2. Rimmed with Light
Kitty Paw in the Sun RS
I was originally going to pull from my archives, but the sun peaked out for a couple of hours on Thursday afternoon. I always love the way the light bounces off her coat. For more “rimmed with light” photos, go HERE or:

3. Toes or Feet
I did not feel like sharing a picture of my toes (not that they look bad, I just need to repaint), but I thought I would share my new favorite nail polish. I should also mention that I am clueless when it comes to nail polish. I don’t value it enough to spend money on it, so I have a tendency to go into the drug store and select whatever is on sale (my favorite price is $1).

4. This is my Favorite
IMG_4325 RS
I had a hard time choosing my favorite shot from my session with Casey. In fact, my absolute favorite is actually waiting to be shared in a few weeks for Shoot and Edit’s “umbrella/rain” prompt (May 16th). However, this would be my second favorite (my third favorite would one of the shots in front of the blue door). I think Casey looks absolutely adorable and I can see this same type of pose being replicated with a child…vintage style.

5. Shade(s)
Bright Future RS
Finally, I took this shot during the bachelorette weekend, but I didn’t get to it for processing until this week. I also wanted to give Nicolasa a plug for her newest photography challenge: Quotography. The above photo doesn’t exactly fit her theme this week: Fun, but I thought I’d still put it out there. I’ll be sure to use one of her upcoming themes for a future Scavenger Hunt.

What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures in your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post.  Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week):
  1. SOOC (straight out of the camera)
  2. Sprouting (Cindy’s suggestion)
  3. Isn’t it Ironic? (Cindy’s suggestion)
  4. Lazy (Abby’s suggestion) – here’s hoping that Abby is also able to get a new camera (her’s broke) so she can participate with us.
  5. Smells like Spring (Abby’s suggestion)
Again, thank you to Cindy and Abby for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way…and we’ve got some great prompts coming up in future weeks). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

By the way, I have recently joined another collaboration project with Kayla from Struttin’ My Stuff Photography. Do you remember Hugs from Henry? Wandering the World with Zander is very similar-click on the button below for all the details and sign up if you’re interested. Also, be sure to come back tomorrow for Shoot and Edit: Part 1, Week 17.  The prompt/theme is “growth.” Happy Shooting!
