Shoot and Edit: Week 18 – Mother’s Day SOOC
Welcome to the 17th week of Shoot and Edit: Part 1. Click HERE for all the details and upcoming prompts/themes.

This week our theme or prompt is “Mother’s Day” (this is just a suggestion, you can show us any SOOC shot).  You have until Wednesday each week to link your SOOC shot up on Jill’s blog. On Thursday, you can link up your edits with ME after following some of my tips on how to edit your shots (or just post your edit on Thursday and you can pick up my tips for next week).

This past weekend, in addition to celebrating Mother’s Day, we celebrated our niece’s 7th and our nephew’s 2nd birthdays. While I do have pictures of our niece and nephew (which of course I’ll share later this week)…even my Mother-in-Law and the grandmothers, I’m not out to play favorites. Here is my SOOC shot:

Mother's Day Weekend EXIF

Since many of you have seen pictures of our niece and nephew, you already know that this is not either one of them…it’s actually one of the little girls that attended the birthday party.  After taking her picture, she says, “let me see.” Kids these days…so I responded, “please?” She giggled and responded with, “please? You’re smart!”

Anyways, my image’s exposure this week looks pretty good (although I have no idea why I was using ISO 200).  I actually have been thinking for a few weeks now that I needed to discuss gradient maps, so I think this week we will do just that. Of course, if you have any other suggestions, just let me know. Next week’s theme is “Rain/Umbrella.” With that said, be sure to check out other “Mother’s Day” SOOC shots at:
Have a great Monday!
