I don’t have an i-phone…or an i-mac, i-pad or i-pod. According to the commercials, I’m a PC…I operate a Blackberry (not even a cool one)…and I listen to music on a Sony Walkman. Most times, I’m perfectly okay with that position…that is until all of the i-phone users (you know who you are) rub your sweet apps in my face. It’s not nice!
I’m really kidding…minus being a tad bit envious of Instagram and WordFoto. However, the other night, my husband let me play with his Droid Incredible…so I have photos to contribute to the party. YAY!
Last week, Mumford and Sons was in town with The Low Anthem. I’m sure most people have heard of Mumford and Sons…but if you haven’t heard of The Low Anthem, they are a minimalist/folk band said to be from Providence, Rhode Island (I could have sworn they were from the UK…I must be wrong). Here’s their FACEBOOK and MYSPACE page if you want to listen to their music…I suggest you be in a mellow mood.
The concert was at the Raleigh Amphitheater in Downtown Raleigh, NC. Who knew that June 8th would be so hot?! – me. Fortunately, we had incredible seats fairly close to the front. Unfortunately, a pre-concert update told me that I couldn’t bring my camera…so I went naked (not literally…just without my camera). It’s just as well…no one needs to bring a camera to an event where drunken fools are likely to be roaming.
Actually, we managed to avoid any severely annoying people – I think our seats helped. There was this one guy though…about two rows up that I couldn’t take my eyes off (and not because he was an incredible good looking guy). I have a tendency to people-watch when I’m at events…I think it’s natural for photographers, right? Well…this guy was sticking out like a sore thumb. I don’t even think I can effectively describe him but I’ll try. So, he’s wearing a polo shirt tucked into his khaki shorts, has a receding hairline with poofy hair in the back (kinda clown like) and is dancing like the guys from a Night at the Roxbury. I’m sure he’s a very nice, intelligent guy…probably has a great job and a wonderful heart – but he was distracting…just saying! I hope you’ll forgive me for being a bit judgmental.
But all of that is beside the point. We had an incredible time and I’m so glad we went. In a few weeks, we’re going to the David Gray concert. Thankfully, it’ll be INDOORS!!! Happy Saturday.
