Shoot and Edit: Week 23 – Swings and Slides SOOC
Welcome to the 23rd week of Shoot and Edit: Part 1. Click HERE for all the details and upcoming prompts/themes and past tutorials.

This week our theme or prompt is “Swings or Slides” (this is just a suggestion, you can show us any SOOC shot).  You have until Wednesday each week to link your SOOC shot up on Jill’s blog. On Thursday, you can link up your edits with ME after following some of my tips on how to edit your shots (or just post your edit on Thursday and you can pick up my tips for next week).

I don’t have a new photo to share this week…but I do have a photo from my niece and nephew’s birthday party last month that fits this week’s theme. Here’s my SOOC:

Swing EXIF
Like most of our images these days (because we’ve all gotten so good at getting a great SOOC shot), this image requires little more than some basic clean processing…besides, it’s a snapshot. However, I had a couple of requests last week to show you how to lighten or darken and image…so, we’ll talk about dodging, burning and other approaches that will lighten or darken parts of your image. Next week’s theme is “Father’s Day.” With that said, be sure to check out other “Swing or Slide” SOOC shots at:

Oh wait…look what I got in the mail on Friday?
Don’t you just love it? Thanks again to everyone that voted for my SOOC shot last week. By the way, be sure you click on the button below for tips on becoming a “Word Verification Free” blog.
