Scavenger Hunt Sunday
I love a short week, don’t you? I especially like a short week when I know I have something to look forward to over the weekend. This weekend, my mother-and father-in-law came to visit us. They haven’t been to our house in almost two years so it was a real treat. I’ve been anticipating this visit for months…well since we decided on a weekend and purchased Allegria (Cirque Du Soleil) tickets. Needless to say, the show as incredible (if only I could have taken my camera) and we’ve really enjoyed spending this time with family.  It also doesn’t hurt that I got a second nod from I Heart Faces this week. YAY!

Anyways, back to this week’s hunt. If you’ve been participating in the Scavenger Hunt each week, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Kat and Chelsea.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Things that look like a letter of the Alphabet
The Letter P RS
I am HORRIBLE at finding things that look like a letter of the alphabet. I really ought to steal Dina’s son, Sam, for a day so he can help me find that sorta thing. Nonetheless, as I was leaving the office the other day, I thought this stair-rail looked kinda like the letter “P.” What do you think?

2. Weather
Rain on the Window BW RS
For the past week, summer thunderstorms have been rolling in on a daily basis. This is what it looks like from my office…in black and white. Can you tell I was tapping into my inner Katie Lloyd?
Photography love...

3. Bling
IMG_6010 RS
This week, I went for the cheap shot and decided to share one of my sparkler shots to represent “bling.” It’s essentially the same as me showing you my engagement ring…ya know, because it would “put your eye out.” I kid, I kid.

4. Tangled
Tangled RS
“Tangled” proved to be a challenging prompt for me this week, but one thing did come to mind. Until recently, I kept all of my jewelry in a couple of drawers. There was absolutely NO organization. Therefore, each morning, I would pull out a drawer…dump everything out on the floor and search for whatever I was looking for. It was chaotic and ridiculous. At some point, I decided to start using small boxes to organize my jewelry – each box contains one necklace and matching earrings (if available). As a result, very little of my jewelry gets tangled…with the exception of four that have been moved from the drawer to a bag in my closet. I still love them, but can’t seem to get them untangled. I thought they looked cooler after using a photocopy technique.

5. Dark
IMG_6034 RS
Technically, this photo isn’t exactly “dark,” but it was taken after dark on Monday while our group tried to set off some cheap fireworks. This one was a dud, giving us little more than a weird fog. I thought it made for a neat photograph though.

What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures in your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week):
  1. Black and White
  2. Reflections in Glass (Exploring with a Camera theme – check out post here)
  3. Headlights (Chelsea’s suggestion)
  4. Seeing Double (Chelsea’s suggestion)
  5. Bare (Chelsea’s suggestion)
Again, thank you to Kat and Chelsea for so many great scavenger hunt items. I’ve actually got several weeks worth of prompts waiting in my inbox, but if you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way…and we’ve got some great prompts coming up in future weeks). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Also, be sure to come back tomorrow for Shoot and Edit: Part 1, Week 27. The prompt/theme is “Skies the Limit.” Happy Shooting!
