Welcome to the 28th week of Shoot and Edit: Part 1. Click HERE for all the details and upcoming prompts/themes and past tutorials. This week our theme or prompt is “Summer” (this is just a suggestion, you can show us any SOOC shot…much like I did this week). You have until Wednesday each week to link your SOOC shot up on Jill’s blog. On Thursday, you can link up your edits with ME after following some of my tips on how to edit your shots (or just post your edit on Thursday and you can pick up my tips for next week).
Much like last week, our theme this week could go in a number of directions. However, when I think of summer, I think of kids playing in the backyard (or the pool). This past weekend, I went home to hang out with my family – the weather was perfect so I was more than happy to spend a little time outdoors. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any kids playing…and photographing kids that are not your own is a bit weird (in my opinion – unless it’s a portrait session). I did find an empty swing set and basketball goal though. Here’s my SOOC:

I’m really liking the way the trees frame this shot – I also love the light. My histogram says it’s a bit under-exposed…I’m not sure I agree. Like I mentioned last week, I’m running out of ideas for Photoshop/Photoshop Elements tutorials. I am in the process of identifying guest tutorial writers (and if you have some suggestions, please let me know). In the meantime, I plan to do two things:
- Edit one photo from our FLICKR GROUP. If you are interested in me potentially editing your photo, just add it to the group (make a note in the comment section within flickr if you’re adding it to the group but don’t want it edited by me).
- I’ll also edit my photo. I will not write a tutorial but I think I’ll let you guess what is different.
With that said, be sure to check out other “Summer” SOOC shots at:
By the way, be sure you click on the button below for tips on becoming a “Word Verification Free” blog.
Have a great Monday!
