Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Are you tired of seeing vacation photos yet? I sure hope not, because I have at least another week’s worth of photos to share…which also means that I’m using vacation photos for this week’s prompts. Get ready for more Big Ben! If you’ve been participating in the Scavenger Hunt each week, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Kat, Paper Heart Camera and Danielle.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!

Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Street Photography

While we were visiting Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, we ran into a flood of bicyclists (or rather people on bicycles participating in the Sky Ride). It was pretty wild. There were people standing on risers cheering the riders on…even musicians playing some music. I spotted this photographer taking a photo of one of the musicians on the street. I was trying to capture two things at once: bicycle motion and another photographer in action.

2. From a Distance

This is another photo taken from The London Eye. From a distance, you can see yet another photo of Big Ben…and Westminster on the right. My processing makes it look like something out of a storybook. Love that!

3. Sunday

Two weeks ago today, I was touring London. Of course, I don’t typically tour London on Sundays…I normally hit the gym and then read Scavenger Hunt Sunday posts (we attend church on Saturday afternoon).

4. Liquid
The Sink RS
This photo was taken around the same time as my St. Paul Cathedral photos that I shared on Wednesday. We really just needed to sit down and rest for a bit so we slipped into Starbucks. I needed to use the bathroom. I suppose I could have left my camera with my husband at our table, but it was around my neck so I just rolled with it. And since it still had my wide angle lens adapter on it, I thought I’d see what all I could capture in the tiny bathroom [don’t even act like you wouldn’t do the same thing – ha ha]. Anyways, this might be a stretch but liquid does come out of that faucet.

5. Behind

This is one of many photos I took of my husband taking a picture. I think some of my photography obsession is rubbing off on him – in fact, I think he took probably 200-400 photos on his Droid….and they’re pretty good. I can’t wait to share some of them.

What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week):
  1. Low Key
  2. The Color Wheel: Monochromatic/Analogous Color (Exploring with a Camera theme: click HERE)
  3. Circle (Paper Heart Camera prompt – consider a self-portrait)
  4. Scarf (Danielle’s suggestion)
  5. Phone (Danielle’s suggestion)

Again, thank you to Kat, Paper Heart Camera and Danielle for so many great scavenger hunt items. I’ve actually got several weeks worth of prompts waiting in my inbox, but if you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way…and we’ve got some great prompts coming up in future weeks). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Also, be sure to come back tomorrow for Shoot and Edit: Part 1, Week 37. The prompt/theme is “Teen or Adult Portrait.” Happy Shooting!
