Shoot and Edit: Week 39 – Orange SOOC
Welcome to the 39th week of Shoot and Edit: Part 1. Click HERE for all the details and upcoming prompts/themes and past tutorials. This week our theme or prompt is “Orange” (this is just a suggestion, you can show us any SOOC shot…much like I did this week). You have until Wednesday each week to link your SOOC shot up on Jill’s blog. On Thursday, you can link up your edits with ME after following some of my tips on how to edit your shots (or just post your edit on Thursday and you can pick up my tips for next week).

For whatever reason, I really struggled with this week’s prompt…even though I started thinking about it several days ago. I originally wanted to photograph candy corn, and as you see below…I ultimately DID photograph candy corn. However, when I mentioned my original idea to my husband…I was met with “but I don’t like candy corn.” We walked over to the vintage candy and selected a few “orange looking” candies. It wasn’t the same. After taking a look at my first round of images, I took off Sunday afternoon for a re-shoot. I’m much happier.

You’ll notice that I’ve included two SOOC shots today (I would have included a third, but I decided to create a new header instead). This was part of an unplanned experiment, but for those of you that have ever been interested in the differences between my 50mm f/1.4 lens and my 105mm f/2.8 lens (macro) – this will give you an idea. The only thing that changed between the two shots is the lens I am using.

I don’t plan to do anything too crazy with either of these images. Perhaps we’ll just review clean processing…not sure yet. Either way, be sure to check out other “Orange” SOOC shots at:
