Happy New Year and welcome to the 51st and FINAL week of Shoot and Edit: Part 2. Click HERE for all the details and past prompts/themes (including previous editing tutorials). This week’s theme or prompt was to show us one “Happy New Year” SOOC shot (this was just a suggestion, you can show us any SOOC shot). Hopefully you linked up with Jill’s blog earlier this week.
It’s hard to believe that we’ve COMPLETED a year of shooting and editing. For the past 51 weeks, I have taken my SOOC shots and provided a simple/basic or advanced Photoshop/Photoshop Elements or Lightroom tutorial (or had guest tutorials).
Our goal all along for this challenge, was to be a learning experience. As I looked back through a year’s worth of edits this past week, I felt really good about what I’ve accomplished. Sure there’s plenty more left to be learned…but I’m hardly done with my photography journey. Needless to say, I’m a little sad that our year is coming to an end. While Jill and I have decided to close down Shoot and Edit (aka good to WOW), I am committed to sharing new photography and editing lessons with you in 2012…it’ll just be less frequent. Please please please let me know if you have any specific requests – this is a community, not a one-woman show.
I thought this week it’d be fun to see a collection of some of our favorite edited shots from the year. I used Big Huge Labs to pull my photos together (obviously I couldn’t pull the entire set, so I pulled 36 of the 51). It makes me happy to see them all together.

I’m looking forward to seeing either your edits or collages. I also hope you all have a great Thursday and a spectacular New Year’s Eve. Thanks for a great year – I’ll see you in 2012!
