Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I don’t have anything witty to say today, so let’s get right to the Scavenger Hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Abra at The Magical Miss.
- Anyone can participate.
- You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
- If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
- Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
- Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
- Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

Yesterday, I went to the pool…in my bikini. I got hot rather quickly so I found myself in the pool with the water beneath my feet a little more often than my girlfriends.

A couple of weeks ago, I was photographing Sarah Halstead‘s boys on a playground. The shot prior to this one was pretty blurry, so I decided to share this one instead. You can kinda still tell that they are moving – even if Carysn is looking right at me.

I found this super comfy pink shag rug for our daughter’s bathroom. Technically, it’s still our guest bedroom but since it’s right beside the nursery, I figure she’ll use it quite a bit. I love the texture.

These photos definitely require an explanation. Last weekend, we attended my friend’s wedding. In the days leading up to the wedding, I recall my friend saying that he was excited to get married, but a bit nervous about being the center of attention. My advice – focus on her and nothing else will matter. He “faced his fears” and the wedding was beautiful. The photo on the right really has nothing to do with my friend’s wedding, but we happened upon another wedding during our weekend. I thought the set up was quite lovely.

This particular prompt was a challenge for me. I wasn’t quite sure how to illustrate “currently,” until I realized that I am currently in the process of editing two portrait sessions. I want to get them done this week before I photograph my next baby in another week or so.
So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Abra at The Magical Miss:
- Shine
- Fast
- Left
- Peace
- Plain
Again, thank you to Abra for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!
