The weeks keep flying by, don’t they? I used to prepare for the Scavenger Hunt several days in advance. These days, I find that I’m doing good if this post is done by Saturday at 7 pm…and for what it’s worth, as I’m writing this, it is 6:50 pm – so there!
Today (Sunday), we’re having a Baby-Q. For those of you that are giving me the side-eye right now, it’s really just one big party with the focus being on the upcoming arrival of our little girl…all of our friends invited – male and female. I’m hoping everyone has a good time. I’ll be sure to take pictures so I’ll let you know how it goes next weekend.
On another note, I’m starting to plan ahead for my “maternity leave.” While I currently don’t make any money blogging, I still devote a large portion of time to it…in particular, Scavenger Hunt Sunday. As much as I’d love to believe that I can keep up this pace through labor and delivery…and then recovering in the weeks after, I think I need help. If you’re interested in hosting the Scavenger Hunt, please let me know so we can discuss how it’ll be done while I still have my wits to me. I’m thinking your first “host date” would be July 29th, but we can talk more about that. Either way, email me!
With that said, let’s get back to the Scavenger Hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Kay Rhodes:
- Anyone can participate.
- You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
- If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
- Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
- Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
- Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:
1. Travel

It should come as no surprise to you that I haven’t traveled much of anywhere beyond work since late January when I was still traveling as part of my job. I almost just pulled out one of my Europe photos and called it a day. Actually, I did just that, but I edited a photo that I don’t think I ever edited before (and I may have…just didn’t pay attention). This was taken on the plane ride back from London BEFORE I spilled an entire can of coke on myself. To make matters worse, I did that at the beginning of our flight and had to sit in it for 7 hours. My pants were still wet when we landed.
2. Silly

Another thing I haven’t done enough of…being silly. However, I know this kid named Dustyn (Sarah Halstead’s oldest son) who is ubber silly.
3. Black and White

Black and white kitty cat processed in black and white? Kitty Paw has been exploring new sleeping spots lately – here I found her under our guest bed. I guess she likes it because the sun was pouring in but she was hidden from us…which of course means peace and quiet. I later found her in my closet on a stack of clothes. When I started blow drying my hair she got up and pranced off as if I had disturbed her.
4. Spots

All week, I thought I had to photograph “dots,” but I guess spots is much the same. I have polka dots all over my house – I’m kind of a fan of them. However, I thought this one little dish was kinda cute – and this one “dot” is covered in “dots.”
5. Paper

I’ve got three columns of paper on my refrigerator right now…or rather, three columns of ultrasound photos: 12 weeks, 18 weeks and 30 weeks. Here are my 30 week ultrasound photos (I shared a few of them in a recent bump report) in our little girl’s nursery. This is just a taste of more photos to come. I’m actually still waiting on one final piece to come in before I give you the full tour.
So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Kay Rhodes:
- Meet Me at the Corner
- Mother Nature Meets Technology
- One Step at a Time
- What’s Wrong with this Picture?
- Standing Tall
Again, thank you to Kay for so many great scavenger hunt items (even if I’m crazy intimidated by them). If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!
