Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Other than going to the pediatrician, I don’t think I’ve left the house this week. Hmmm, I’ll have to change that this coming week…even if it’s just to walk around Target. Although, the visit to our pediatrician was worth a trip out of the house. Felicity has met her birth weight (and would have gained even more had it not been for a dirty diaper) and we saw our lactation consultant only so we could tell her how great things were going. So, I guess I can’t complain too much about life on the home front.

On the other hand, my husband and I have been working diligently over the past few weeks to launch my new website. It’s been a work in progress since January, but this time we’re serious. Ramblings and Photos by Ashley Sisk will be making a move to WordPress next week. For those of you that follow me via Google Friend Connect, you may want to subscribe via RSS feed in order to stay connected. To do this, scroll to the bottom of my page and click on the orange subscribe square (in between the Facebook and Flickr buttons…just above the GFC application). From there, it will give you a number of options by which to follow me – choose the option that best works for you. My url won’t change so if you forget, just continue going to www.ashleysisk.com – I’ll be sure to remind you again next Sunday (and probably any other time I post for the next couple of weeks). It’s pretty awesome so I hope you’ll like it.

With that said, welcome back to the Scavenger Hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Ginger of My Life Just As It Is.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Wrapped
IMG_8129 RS
Felicity is not a huge fan of a swaddle…at least not one that prevents her from moving her arms. She definitely doesn’t like those zip-up swaddles. So, rather than terrorize my little girl, I decided to go with an alternative interpretation for “wrapped.” Felicity has us “WRAPPED” around her little finger…so much so that when I hear the slightest whimper in the middle of night, I’m out of my bed faster than Batman!

2. Time Together
Our Little Family RS
I think I’ve mentioned before that I am now a WAHM (work at home mom). My last day as a full time employee was also Felicity’s birthday…and from this point forward, I will work on a subcontractor basis for my previous employer in addition to increasing my portrait work. Meanwhile, my husband also works from home. We feel so blessed to have this time together as a family while Felicity is so little.

3. Tell Me a Story
Snuggles with Daddy RS
Both my husband and I look forward to snuggle time each day. My husband’s snuggle time starts first thing in the morning just after her first feeding. Not that he wakes up any sooner (quite the opposite), but he really loves to lay next to Felicity for just a few minutes while the rest of the world seems to be at rest. I never have my camera on me when these moments happen, but I did have it on me the other night when he snuck in a late night snuggle. When I see them laying there together, they look even more alike.

4. Love or Couple
IMG_8187 RS
My husband has often told me that he fell in love with me the moment he first saw me – I can’t say that I had the exact same feelings towards him (I was a bit hesitant). However, when Felicity was born, it really was love at first sight for both of us. I always knew he’d be a great father, but to see it in action…one of God’s greatest gifts.

5. Duplicated
IMG_8128 RS
When a baby is born, I think it’s normal to ask “who does the baby look like?” We’ve decided that Felicity will have my husband’s eyes (and we’re hopeful that they’ll stay blue). On the other hand, she has my full head of dark hair (I was born with jet black hair), my lips and my toes. Sometimes when we look at her, it’s as if we just duplicated ourselves.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Ginger of My Life Just As It Is
  1. Paint
  2. Green
  3. Eyelashes
  4. Shapes
  5. Clouds
Again, thank you to Ginger for so many great scavenger hunt items (I pulled a list from May 2011). If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!
