This week completely got away from me. I had full intentions of visiting your scavenger hunts and it just didn’t happen…no excuses, it just didn’t happen and I apologize. Felicity is seven weeks old now so I’m thinking that by the time she’s a full two months old, that I might achieve some sort of schedule. For those of you who are parents…do tell, what’s normal? There again, I’m really enjoying just hanging with my girl so blogging has taken a back seat. Okay, I said it – I’ve enjoyed being away from the computer. But, I still love Scavenger Hunt Sunday and I love you guys so I hope you’ll continue to hunt with me…even if I don’t visit your blogs every week.
With that said, welcome back to the Scavenger Hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by
Paper Heart Camera and
Mikayla.

The rules are simple:
- Anyone can participate.
- You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
- If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
- Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
- Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
- Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:
1. Forest
On Friday, we decided to take a family outing to the lake. It was actually our first time using our stroller…and it only took us seven weeks to get there. There is a beautiful trail around the lake – we thought it best to stick to the trees as it was much more shaded. Several points during our walk, Felicity got a bit fussy. We took turns walking with her in our arms. Of course, I had my camera on me so I captured this sweet moment.
2. Morning Light
The past few weeks, I’ve actually been sleeping right through the morning light. Maybe I’m the only one, but when your child decides to “play” during adult sleeping hours…you take advantage of their morning nap. Anyways, one night this week, she slept pretty well…so, we woke up at 8:30 am (which used to be sleeping in for me) and caught Kitty Paw basking in the morning sun. For those of you who have been wondering where Kitty Paw has been – she’s been hiding.
3. Touch
I could have gone with the literal here, but I went with a photo that touches my heart. However, on our way home, my husband said to me, “but I didn’t get any photos of you today.” I’ve been told that I have to make a more assertive effort to hand my camera off.
4. Newspaper
I apologize for diving into my archives on this one. We don’t take the paper…and I didn’t do effective planning for this week’s set. Heck, nine times out of ten, I don’t know what’s going on in the news (with the exception of right now since our TVs are bombarded with political ads).
5. Coffee or Tea
Drinking coffee just isn’t the same now that I don’t go into the office five days a week. I didn’t drink coffee much at home anyways, and now I really don’t. My husband does though, so I took a picture of his coffee the other morning.
So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by
Paper Heart Camera and
Mikayla:
- School
- Rule of Thirds
- Side Profile
- Small
- Motion
Again, thank you to
Paper Heart Camera and
Mikayla for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.
Oh, one more thing…I think I’m going to start up a new linky. I shall call it
“WITTLE PEOPLE WEDNESDAY!” Feel free to join me or not, but it’ll be a way for me to share photos of my baby girl…and any of my little clients (aka babies, toddlers, children – you get the idea). No themes, just photos worth sharing. Here’s a button to inspire you.
Happy Shooting!
