Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
I have to brag on Felicity just a little bit before we get into the scavenger hunt. We finally made it back to church yesterday and decided we better attend family chapel to see how it goes. Felicity absolutely loved worship. Since her head is getting stronger, she was able to bounce on our knees with the music…she just smiled and cooed at us. It was adorable. So glad to see that she already loves church – I hope this continues because I have really missed writing “my faith” posts.

On a completely different note, my husband and I have been working on my website a bit this week. In addition to starting up “Wittle People Wednesday,” we’ve been fighting the war against SPAM! At one point, I received over 500 spam messages. So, I had to turn on a captcha – yeah, the girl who wants everyone else to turn off their captcha turned one on. After a bit of tweaking this weekend, we were able to turn it off. Hopefully, you are now able to comment with ease. However, if you are still having trouble, please send me a message using my contact form (or my email if you know that).

With that said, welcome back to the Scavenger Hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Kamana at Journalling Through Photos.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday

The rules are simple:

1) Anyone can participate.
2) You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
3) If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
4) Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
5) Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive).
6) Have fun!

Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. School

School Windows RS

I had to go into my archives for this particular shot as I did not go back to school this week…nor did anyone else in my family go back to school. I’m sure I could have posted something and said something to the effect of “I was schooled this week,” but I’m not nearly that witty right now. But yeah, this is an elementary school down the street from us.

2. Rule of Thirds

Felicity loves NC State!
I guess I could have shown the grid on top of this image to illustrate proper use of the rule of thirds, but hopefully you can see it. My husband bought Felicity a NC State onesie the other day when he was getting a new Wolfpack t-shirt (in preparation for the upcoming game). She has another onesie she’ll wear on game day that her Aunt Beth (one of my best friends) bought her.

3. Side Profile

Newborn Portrait Photography, Raleigh, NC
I shared this photo on Facebook two days ago, following my most recent newborn session with baby Nolan. I’ll share more photos of him later this week. Isn’t he sweet?

4. Small

Felicity's Little Hand
Felicity’s little hands look so tiny in comparison to my husband.

5. Motion

Children Photography, Raleigh, NC
I mentioned on Friday (in Zan’s one year old portrait preview post) that Zan has recently started walking. I also mentioned that more times than not, I caught the back of his head as he ran past me – he was constantly in motion.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Kamana at Journalling Through Photos:

1) Candid
2) Toys
3) Any of the Five Senses
4) Batteries
5) Half

Again, thank you to Kamana at Journalling Through Photos for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Happy Shooting!
