Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
First and foremost, I’ve got to publicly wish my husband a happy birthday! He may be 35, but he doesn’t look a day over 34. I kid, I kid.

With that said, welcome back to the Scavenger Hunt.I don’t have much of a story today, but I hope you like my photos. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Terrie at Creative Explorer.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

The rules are simple:

1) Anyone can participate.
2) You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
3) If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
4) Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
5) Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive).
6) Have fun!

Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Candid

Candid Moment, Raleigh Photographer
On Friday, Felicity and I got all dressed up for college game day. Granted, I went to a women’s college…and grew up in a home that didn’t celebrate college football…but my husband is a huge NC State football fan, so we dressed ourselves in NC State red. I then thought to ask my husband to take a few pictures of us. I don’t know that you can get any more candid than this. I can’t explain our faces or the moment, but I’m glad he captured it.

2. Toys

My mom found a couple of toy cameras before Felicity was born. I’m hopeful that one day she’ll enjoy photography and art as much as I do.

3. Any of the Five Senses

Another one of my husband’s photos. At first, I wasn’t quite sure what to do with this image. Then I realized that while the photo does not capture our faces in a traditional sense, it does capture four of the five senses. 1) Her ear to represent hearing, 2) my nose to represent smelling, 3) my mouth to represent tasting and 4) her little hand resting on me to represent touch.

4. Batteries

I think this shot speaks for itself – the positive side of four AA batteries. I decided to get artsy.

5. Half

I originally was going to eat half a donut and photograph the other half. The donut didn’t last that long. So…I decided to photograph Felicity’s legs in much the same way that I used to do with myself – only photographing that half of my body. Since my husband was holding Felicity in order to get the shot, I pulled my camera up to capture the other half of this diptych.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Terrie at Creative Explorer:

1) Monochromatic
2) Starts with the letter…
3) Upside Down
4) Hair
5) Soft

Again, thank you to Terrie at Creative Explorer for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Happy Shooting!
