Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Welcome back to another week of Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Big things happened this week…well one big thing. My nephew, Logan Bennett, was born! I’m planning on shooting his newborn photos soon…and of course I’ll share them. On another note, I wanted to remind you that the Quarter Top Five is coming soon. If you’ve been participating, you know the routine, but if you’re new, here are a few things you should know:

  • Linky begins Wednesday, September 26th through Wednesday, October 3rd
  • Go through your July, August and September 2012 photo archives.
  • Choose your favorite FIVE photos and post them to your blog or Flickr account beginning September 26th
  • PLEASE only use photos that include your CHILDREN and/or PETS
  • Accompany each photo with a short explanation (or caption) of why it was selected
  • Link up with Amber at Click.Pray.Love, & Sarah at NapTime MomTog, or me at Ramblings and Photos
With that said, let’s get to the hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Sacha at Sacha’s Saucy Snippets and Chelsea at Hearts & Scars.

The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Cracked

Let’s start with my least inspiring image. The siding on our house is a bit cracked…we think from the lawn mower hitting it one too many times. At least it’s only that way on the back of the house.

2. Fallen

Felicity
When I initially saw this prompt, I thought we might see a few leaves on the ground this week. I forget though that Autumn doesn’t officially kick off until this weekend…and for North Carolina, October is our big month. I can’t even wait. However, I have “fallen” in love with my little girl. I’ll fall in love all over again this weekend when I meet my new nephew.

3. Ordinary Color

Pinwheel
I took a similar photo a year or two ago using this same pinwheel. This time, however, I was holding a baby in one hand and my camera in the other. I don’t know if these colors are ordinary, but I do love them.

4. Bokeh

I took this photo about a month ago and hadn’t processed it. I love shooting in manual focus mode to capture this type of shot. Speaking of bokeh, Christmas is just around the corner – yay for Christmas Tree bokeh!

5. Fence

How about fences? I took this photo from my front door. Across the street, it appears as if our neighbors went through a fence battle. One house would put up a fence, and then the next…all different styles, until the last house just had to put up one side. It looks kinda funny now.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Sacha at Sacha’s Saucy Snippets and Chelsea at Hearts & Scars:
  1. Yellow
  2. Getting Ready
  3. Bright
  4. Teeny Tiny
  5. Connections

Again, thank you to Sacha at Sacha’s Saucy Snippets and Chelsea at Hearts & Scars for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Happy Shooting!
