Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Welcome back to another week of Scavenger Hunt Sunday. I’m going to have to be quick today/night (it’s Saturday night right now as I’m writing this) since Felicity is crying a bit. Since she was a tad bit early, her stomach is still maturing a bit and we haven’t quite outgrown the “witching hour.” To be sure these fits will fade soon.

So like I said, let’s get to the hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Brooke Chambers.

The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Water Drops or Water Flowing

I once again had to dip into my archives for this shot. I didn’t have a chance to photograph a new water drop or water running, so I went back into some photos I did in January 2011. Whenever I get more time on my hands, I’ll have to play with this again.

2. Faithfulness

Blessed are the Merciful
When I considered this prompt, I immediately thought of the series my church has been doing on the beatitudes. This weekend, we discussed being merciful. The greek word for mercy means compassionate (putting compassion into action). If I think about faithfulness, I have to consider how I’m treating others as a reflections of God’s blessings on me. In order to receive mercy, we’ve got to give mercy.

3. Then and Now

This week, I also had the opportunity to attend and photograph my friend Frances’ 6th birthday party. When I thought about then and now, I couldn’t help but think back to when I started photographing Frances and her sisters in 2010. Then, I had to work my way into a smile – but it was so worth it. Now, the girls light up each time they see me…granted, they’re pretty excited to see Felicity. Happy Birthday Frances. More to come.

4. Fingertips

Fingertips
This past week, I had the opportunity to photograph two newborns…which means I’ve got a lot of editing to get through this next week. These are baby Everett’s sweet little fingers. Stay tuned for more.

5. One Item from the Fall Bucket List: Enjoy a Pumpkin Drink

Pumpkin Spice Latte
Specifically, the pumpkin spice latte. Even better…I found a gift card in my wallet so I didn’t have to pay a dime!

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Brooke Chambers:
  1. Orange or PINK in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
  2. Faceless Portrait (aim for a selfie)
  3. View from the Top
  4. Cozy
  5. Stacked

Again, thank you to Brooke Chambers for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list (and I could use some fresh lists), just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Happy Shooting!
