Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Welcome back to another week of Scavenger Hunt Sunday. We’re only a few days away from Christmas, but as I am writing this post…I can’t help but think about those who were killed in this week’s elementary school shooting. If you have a moment, please pray for the families of those who lost someone this week…and also pray for those who suffer of depression or mental illness or whatever it is that puts people in a place where they would want to shoot others – especially at an elementary school. It just breaks my heart to imagine my child not coming home one day…or not being there to open her gifts on Christmas Day. What a sad sad week.

With that said, let’s get to the hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Verna of Lantz…Army of 5.

The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Sparkly

I think every good tree should have sparkly ornaments. Ours is covered in red and white…Santas! I fully believe that Christmas is all about the birth of my Lord and Savior, but I also love the fun that comes along with jolly old Saint Nick.

2. Door

I’ve had a number of Christmas wreaths over the years. One of my favorites was one that a family friend made for our wedding – a simple S made of moss. That one fell apart (sad face). Last year, my mom made us one out of ribbon…loved that one too. This year, my husband picked up a wreath made of Christmas greens. I spruced it up with some ribbon.

3. Decorate

I wasn’t quite sure how to photograph “decorate,” so I decided that I would photograph more of our decorations. This is yet another Santa we have sitting on our coffee table. He’s quite festive I think.

4. Stripes

Felicity in Stripes
Here’s my girl…in stripes. It’s a good thing she’s cute, because she is a stage 5 clinger. The good news is that we’re in our sixth month of breast feeding and it’s going great. The bad news is that we’re also going through a bit of separation anxiety. I can hardly move without her crying. It breaks my heart.

5. A few of my favorite things

I freaking love Christmas cards. Starting December 1, I can’t wait to see what the mail man will bring. Granted, I’m keeping the UPS guy equally as busy, but I really do love displaying pictures of all our family and friends. Quite a good looking bunch I think.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, your items are listed below, sponsored by Verna of Lantz…Army of 5.

And while I’m here, I have to apologize for not being as active as I once was with the Scavenger Hunt. I know the number of people participating has significantly dropped off…probably a result of me not visiting the way I used to do. I really do feel awful, but I also feel that the time I have with Felicity right now is so precious that I must spend it with her rather than in front of a computer. I am hoping to participate more in 2013, but again…I’m so sorry for not being a more active hostess.

With that said, I hope you will join me for Memories, Dreams and Reflections 2012 which will launch in a few short weeks. If you missed my post the other day, click the button below for all the sweet details.

Now, here’s your scavenger hunt items for next week:
  1. Joy
  2. Tangled
  3. Silver
  4. Guilty Pleasure
  5. Angel

Again, thank you to Verna for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Happy Shooting!
