Last year while I was still pregnant with Felicity, I met Candice…who was also expecting her first child. Through the power of the internet, we realized that we both loved photography, attended the same church and were going to have daughters born within weeks of one another. It seemed like a match made in heaven and we scheduled a lunch date to meet.
Over the past year, we’ve gotten together a few times (and probably would have gotten together even more had we not lived 30 minutes away from one another) so that the girls could play while we chatted. Let’s be honest, up until recently, they hardly played together but it was fun nonetheless.
Unfortunately, I’m losing Candice and her daughter, Paisley, to the great state of Texas so that she can be closer to “home.” They sold their home way too quickly (kidding – I know it was a huge pain to pack up Paisley for showings) and will be hitting the road in just a few days.
The good news is that we were able to get together one last time, last week. Since it was warm out, we thought it might be fun to go to Pullen Park for a little fun and photography. Candice asked if I could take a few mother/daughter shots while we were there. Obviously, I agreed.
We had quite a good time riding the carousel and the train for the first time. At $1 a ride and free for children under 12 months old, I need to go back soon! We really did have a blast.
After our train ride, we found a shady spot for portraits. Based on the number of photos in today’s post vs. Wednesday’s post, you can tell that Paisley was in a much better mood for photos than Felicity. And that smile…what a cutie!
I’m not sure, but this might be my favorite from the session. Or…the second shot in this post. Either way, I’m really going to miss them.
With all that said, Candice…it has been a pleasure to get to know you over the past year. I hate that Felicity and Paisley won’t get a chance to really know one another in person. However, if you are ever back in North Carolina, please let us know. We’ll miss you!
