Anyways…before we get to my photos and if this is your first time linking up, I only have two rules (and one suggestion):
1) Only share photos you took yourself (or photos taken of you – be sure to give credit to your photographer). 2) Don’t steal any photos shared through this meme. 3) Suggestion: copy and paste my new button to your blog so others know you’re participating.
I should also mention that your “wittle ones” can include your own children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and/or clients…as long as you were the one holding the camera. I fully recognize that “wittle ones” vary in age – so feel free to link up whoever you think of as “wittle.”
For our last play date together (and I’ll say more about this on Friday), we decided to meet up at Pullen Park in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. I want to say that Pullen Park went through a complete renovation last year. Either way, it looked pretty incredible and we had a lot of fun…even on a very hot day (84 at the beginning of April – geez).
To get out of the heat, we started our day at the carousel. It’s indoors so it was a “cool” experience. We also took turns riding so that we could capture each other enjoying the ride with our babies. Felicity and I decided to sit tight the first go round while Candice and Paisley took a ride. Felicity has a tendency to react poorly anytime we take on a new experience too quickly. I’ve learned to arrive early to allow time to watch others in action. This usually gives her enough time to warm up…and to avoid a meltdown. For her first trip to the Carousel…she didn’t hate it – I call that a win.
Another first…the train. I actually had no concerns here. She’d be sitting in my lap the whole time and with me singing “toot toot chugga chugga big red car” in her ear, we were golden. In case you don’t know the reference, Felicity is an early fan of the Wiggles. Shoot me now. HEHE
She’s also a fan of my lens cap.
When we got done with the train, we found a shady spot for photos. My first goal was to capture a few of Candice and Paisley, but I also hoped we might get a few of Felicity wearing her Easter dress. Unfortunately, she was a bit tired…and cranky…and not interested in photos. I do appreciate Candice doing her best to capture us though.
I tried again to capture Felicity in her Easter dress on Thursday, right after her first swinging experience (which she loved). Look at that face on the left. It’s as if she was telling me to get that camera out of her face. Oh well – I tried.
