This past Sunday, I met with one of my “watch me grow” clients. You may remember baby Bellamy from the newborn session I did with her in late January. If you managed to miss that post, click
HERE. That precious baby doll is now three months old and already showing so much personality.
The one thing that I really like that I’m doing with Bellamy, is that I’m also capturing her family as she grows. I’m not the best about taking my own family photos, but it is so so important to capture mom and dad during such a sweet time. If at all possible, we’ll have to get at least one family photo during every session moving forward.
Interestingly enough, we originally planned for this session to be outside. Unfortunately, it was a bit cool and rainy so we moved it indoors. To be completely honest, I don’t think it slowed us down one bit. For any future clients out there, don’t be discouraged by a rainy day. If there is any light at all, we can huddle by a window and create magical moments.
For this particular session, I brought out my blankets and we got on the floor. I wanted to see Bellamy’s latest tricks and her parents were more than willing to show off.
When the rain broke, we went outside for a few family portraits. I happened to bring my funky umbrella…and I’m so glad I did. I love this shot of Bellamy and her parents in the street.
They are clearly so in love with this beautiful child. Oh, and for those of you wondering how I captured the rain. I have to confess, I added it back in. Let me know if you want a tutorial on that – I can probably work one up.
With that said, I had so much fun with this session. I can hardly wait until July for her six month session.
