Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Welcome back to Scavenger Hunt Sunday and Happy Labor Day Weekend! Last week, I had a sick baby…this week, I was sick – mastitis. That was definitely not fun. On top of that, just as I was loading my scavenger hunt photos to my computer, my CF card decided to fail me. All of my photos were gone and I had to “re-shoot” as best I could (this happened Saturday morning). In one case, I was not able to reproduce my initial image which makes me pretty sad, but I guess worse things have happened.

With that said, let’s get back to the hunt. For those of you who didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week…next week’s list is another Ashley Sisk original. I hope you’ll be inspired!

The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive
  6. Have fun!

Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Down

IMG_8701 RS
This was not my intended image for “down.” I actually took a photo of Felicity earlier in the week that included drop seat pajamas. It was pretty cute. But, stuff happens…so ya gotta make do. I’d like to think that she was saying “if you keep putting that camera in my face, you’re going DOWN.” On the other hand, NC State scored two touch DOWNS within the first 20 minutes of the game yesterday so that could work too. Don’t ask me the final score – I stopped watching and did laundry.

2. Shadow

Zan August 2013_20 RS
This isn’t a true shadow shot, but I guess you could say that there are shadows of leaves all over my clients’ faces. As much as we tried to pull them out of the sun and into the shade, it still got them. I probably would have deleted the shot had the expressions not been so cute.

3. Flow

water flow RS
You’re going to laugh at me (or maybe not). I immediately thought “hustle and flow” when I saw this prompt. I don’t even really know what that means, but that’s what I thought. I went a different direction. Clearly. Water flow? Alright, so it’s not my most interesting work.

4. Tip

Tip of my Tongue RS
In light of the recent VMA drama with Miley Cyrus, I probably could have avoided a tongue shot…but it was right on the TIP of my tongue! I do hate to admit that I even watched the VMAs, but I was curious. I also found that I have been hiding under a rock for way too long – I didn’t know at least half of the people presenting…or receiving awards. I used to be so current…until I started listening to toddler tunes.

5. Beyond

Full Moon RS
This is from my archives (September 2010). When I think of “beyond,” I think of outer space…which explains why I chose this photo. Maybe I’ll have another chance soon to recapture the moon.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here’s your list.

  1. Labor Day or Labor/Work
  2. Phone Call
  3. Pill(s)
  4. Up Close
  5. White Space

If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Happy Shooting!
