Welcome back to Scavenger Hunt Sunday. I kinda took the week off it seems, since I didn’t post anything since last Sunday. And I can’t say that we did anything crazy – Felicity wasn’t feeling the best and then my husband caught a cold. It happens. This weekend has been rather busy though and my month off is about to come crashing to an end (didn’t have much in the way of client sessions lately). Yesterday, we celebrated my nephew’s first birthday and tomorrow, we’ll celebrate our friend Maddie’s first birthday – pictures to come from both. In the meantiime, let’s get to the scavenger hunt. For those of you who didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week…next week’s list was taken from
Fat Mum Slim’s Photo A Day: September.

The rules are simple:
- Anyone can participate.
- You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
- If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
- Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
- Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive
- Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:
1. Something You Wore
My mom owns an adorable children’s boutique in Rocky Mount, NC called The Red Caboose. If you live near Rocky Mount and haven’t shopped there yet, you should. Heck, even my friend Candice who now lives in Texas still shops with my mom (via telephone since she doesn’t have a website). However, the above outfits are not a reflection of what she sells. I’m sure my mom is shaking her head at me right now since I should be showing off something that came from her store…but we were kinda lazy this week and didn’t leave the house much (which often means pajamas) so I kept it simple and was lucky to even get the photos I’m sharing today. Anyways, here’s a couple of looks by Felicity. The outfit on the right – I call it “Twirly Whirly,” inspired by The Pajanimals. The skirt seems ridiculously long but I have big plans for this outfit in the future. Yay for polka dots.
2. Reflection
It would have been awesome if Felicity had wanted to look right into the mirror, but that just didn’t happen. She was much more interested in my yellow rain boots. I mean, who can really blame her – yellow rain boots are awesome.
3. Inside Your Fridge

[break]
Apparently, we have mustard – at least that’s all that Felicity ever seems to be interested in. Whenever the refrigerator door opens, she goes for the mustard.

[heading type="h3" ]4. Daily Routine
Twice a day, we brush our teeth. Felicity isn’t super great about brushing correctly, but she does understand the routine. I simply get her toothbrush ready when I’m brushing my own teeth. In the beginning, I would sit on the floor with her and model behavior. Now I ask her to open wide, stuff a toothbrush in her mouth and she “brushes her teeth” while I get ready. When I’m done, I help her finish the job.
5. Morning
I suppose this also counts for routine since we do it every day – eat breakfast! Cheerios usually keeps the fingers busy until I’m ready with yogurt or whatever else she’s having to eat in the morning. Yum.
So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here’s your list.
- Rule of Thirds
- Made Me Smile
- Lines
- Alone
- Together
If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.
Happy Shooting!
