Welcome back to Scavenger Hunt Sunday. It’s 9:30 pm on Saturday night, and I’m holding a sick baby in my lap while I type this week’s Scavenger Hunt. Last weekend, we were visiting my in-laws. We had a great time, but I once again failed those who participated in last week’s hunt. Once we got home from that trip, my week simply disappeared. Before I knew it, it was Saturday. So, I apologize. I’ll do better. For those of you who didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week…next week’s list is sponsored by
Kimberly Vensel. Thanks so much Kimberly for giving me some fresh prompts (even if I am pulling from an old list). Keep them coming!

The rules are simple:
- Anyone can participate.
- You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
- If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
- Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
- Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive
- Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:
1. Looking Up
On Friday, I shared a series of photos from our “balloon” day. My initial goal was to take a Valentine photo of her holding these red balloons. It was going to be ADORABLE. Well, it was a bit colder than I thought it was supposed to be…she didn’t like having her photo taken…and I failed to add a weight to the balloons. As you see in this collage, she didn’t like the balloons tied around her wrist so she got them off and they flew away within seconds of getting them on her. As soon as she saw them fly away, she was disappointed. I learned my lesson.
2. Light
I do love the golden hour and all it’s beautiful light. In these shots, the light was on the right side of the frame…very sweet.
3. Favorite Mobile Device
I’m pretty sure this had to do with phones, but I went with anything that is “mobile.” Carter (our nephew)’s favorite mobile device is his trains. He was so sweet this weekend to let Felicity play with them – he was also sick.
4. Outside
On Monday morning, I looked outside and saw fog hanging over the mountain. I’m rarely out and about with my camera to capture fog so when I saw it at my in-laws, I had to step outside. Would you have known that those are turkey in the grass?
5. Inside
Sunday was gorgeous. Felicity’s Paw Paw took all the kids out to play before the Super Bowl Party. After a while, it started getting cool so we took our play inside. I followed Carter. He found a quiet place beside his train table to play with his very favorite trains.
So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here’s your list.
- Camouflaged
- Nutty
- Old Style
- Haphazard
- Monochromatic
If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.
Happy Shooting!
