This past weekend, we took Felicity to her very first Easter Egg Hunt.
We got there early so she’d have time to warm up. We probably could have gone into the gymnasium to check out the Easter festival, but after hearing that the “Easter Bunny” was there for pictures, it was probably a good idea that we didn’t.
There were a ton of families there…lots of toddlers. The only thing lacking was clouds. Oh how I wished there were more clouds.
Up until 11 am, it was open play time. Then, just before 11 o’clock, everyone gathered around the field which was covered in Easter eggs.
It seemed like we were waiting a while before they let us go. The announcer kept wanting us to yell – you know with the typical, “0-3 yr olds, are you ready?” I am not a yeller. Apparently, no one else was either because the announcer tried this routine a few times.
Then he started his countdown. I think a solid 1, 2, 3 would have been sufficient. Unfortunately, he started his countdown at 10.
As you looked around the field, toddlers were melting down one by one. This whole waiting business was a bit much.
Finally, we were told to GO.
Felicity needed a little encouragement to even get started. Then, she found some goldfish. We could have stopped there.
I think we through another couple of eggs in her basket just to say we did something. Unfortunately, the whole thing was over in about 90 seconds.
Was it fun? Yes. Would we do it again? Yes. At the same place? Um….
Either way, it was a great way to get out of the house and do something together as a family. Felicity looked adorable and I’m so glad we got to show off her new Easter basket.
By the way, it may be a little late for this year, but I highly recommend
Twizzle Stiches on Etsy.
Anyways, that’s all for now. Hope you all had a great weekend!
