On Sunday afternoon, I met up with Claire and her family. Claire just celebrated her first birthday and we wanted to be sure we captured her at this point in her little life. Hard to believe how much she’s grown since I first met her nine months ago.
If you know this family (or just remember them from my previous posts), you know that we always try to take some family photos while we’re together. This was our very first shot – not bad if I do say so myself.
We also try to capture the girls in the same photo…smiling. Nailed it.
From there, we walked over to one of the trails. This is one of my favorite trails to shoot on, but I don’t think I’ve ever had such a sassy client to photograph as I did with Claire’s older sister, Amelia. Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of her daddy showing her these moves.
While I did capture a few shots of Claire on this trail, she was much more interested in walking. So, we did some walking shots. Love this one.
We went to the dock and had a moment with mommy.
Then took a break to check out rocks and leaves and anything else that might be on the ground. I love how toddlers always seem to rest in this position.
Outfit change. It took some convincing for Claire to sit still long enough for me to photograph her, but we worked it out.
Then we found a little bit of sand to play in (while another group was taking a break from beach volleyball). These two shots might be my favorite.
At this point in the afternoon, we were all getting a little tired, but Amelia made sure to tell us a few jokes. Apparently, I’m a silly flower…which is apparently way better than the names she called her mom and dad.
Meanwhile, Claire had one more outfit. What’s a birthday session without a birthday outfit?! Even better, a sweet sister moment to end the day.
Needless to say, we had a great time together…and we had a perfect day to take photos. I can never argue with 70 degree temperatures and overcast skies. Let’s have more of those days please.
Happy Birthday Claire! I’ll see you and your family again in August to celebrate Amelia’s birthday!
