Last weekend, I met up with the “M” family at Pullen Park to celebrate Brooks’ first birthday. It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year. In case you missed it, here’s a preview of his newborn session:
HERE.

For his first birthday, we decided to go with something a little different for me…balloons. LOTS of BALLOONS!

Brooks’ mom brought this great basket and we attached the balloons to form a “hot air balloon.” I’m not sure if I told her this, but one day, I really want to go to one of those hot air balloon festivals. That would be awesome! I think Brooks would enjoy it too. He definitely enjoyed his mini ride.

Beyond the balloons, Brooks was quite serious for most of his session – which is completely normal for a lot of kids. I know Felicity is a hard nut to crack so I didn’t hold it against him. I quite liked his serious expressions.

I think he was much more interested in walking around. Apparently, he’s been walking since he was 9 months old. He’s got places to go and people to see!

The great thing about Pullen Park is that it’s filled with lots of little nooks that are perfect for photos. And, you most families enjoy the park after their session. I tried to stay away from the amusements this go round just in case this family ever wants to go back and have photos done on the carousel or train. But look at this family shot – frame worthy!

From the garden area, we walked over to the lake. On this particular morning, it started out rather cloudy (which I love). But as you can tell, the sun came out. It was a beautiful spring day though so no complaints.

Well Brooks – you did it. You turned 1! Happy Birthday little man. I hope to see you again next year (if not sooner).
