Great Expectations

Christmas is the season of great expectations. Yes expectations are high…between the parties, presents, dinners and family…it all should be leading up to the birth of Jesus Christ. But with all the anticipation, it starts to feel like an overdue engagement. And after a while, the excitement turns into exhaustion…we just want it to be over. Hosta…in Bloom!

Last year (well, I think it was last year…time seems to fly, so it quite easily could have been two years ago), my husband gave our front yard a makeover. As part of that makeover, he added hostas in between our shrubbery and perennials. We’ve really enjoyed watching them grow. Unfortunately, just as they are about to sprout more than leaves, something (namely Bambi or Thumper) comes along and eats the blooms…that is until last week (and by this point, this one plant should have full blooms). Since last week’s Good to Wow tutorial, I’ve been playing with the Invert function…and because it’s so hot outside, I’ve been dreaming of Fall temperatures. You’ve probably heard John Mayer’s hit song, Waiting on the World to Change. I think we can all agree with these lyrics, “Now we see everything that’s going wrong with the world and those who lead it. We just feel like we don’t have the means to rise above and beat it.
